About the Role

Gartner is seeking a full-time Salesforce DevOps Engineer to join our Salesforce DevOps and Release team. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with the Salesforce Platform and Development teams to manage daily code deployments and CI/CD activities across Salesforce Orgs. Your responsibilities will also include the periodic maintenance of various non-production Salesforce Orgs and Sandboxes, as well as scheduled Production Releases and Hotfixes.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements and propose optimal solutions, adhering to Salesforce best practices.
• Engage in hands-on solution design, proof-of-concept development, and testing to support implementation initiatives.
• Manage critical customer cases, ensuring clear and concise documentation of resolutions.
• Collaborate within a cross-functional SCRUM team to maintain and enhance the SFDC Platform.
• Identify opportunities to leverage Salesforce best practices and guidelines to improve system productivity, scalability, and monitoring.
• Participate actively in code reviews, peer inspections, and the review of technical designs and specifications.
• Manage incidents and their resolutions, with a strong focus on root cause analysis.

Qualifications

We are looking for an experienced professional with over 2 years of relevant experience on the Force.com platform, possessing a solid understanding of SFDX tools and Salesforce components. A strong grasp of Salesforce Setup Objects, administration, and deployment processes is essential. Prior experience deploying code to Salesforce non-production or production Orgs is required.

Must-Have Skills:

• Proficiency in Jenkins Job configurations and DSL, Bitbucket, and SFDX / Metadata API.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Salesforce applications, including configuration, Process Builders, Workflows, Custom Settings, and database design.
• Advanced understanding of the Salesforce data model, custom objects, workflows, and configuration.
• Ability to interpret current system designs and enhance them to support automation objectives.
• Strong teamwork, critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience executing release activities, pre- and post-deployment tasks, and using Data Loader.
• Deep understanding of deployment models, destructive and constructive packages/manifests, and the ability to provide multiple solutions to unblock development.
• Thorough understanding of Salesforce Releases, Support Model, and Sandbox Maintenance.
• Flexibility to work in shifts (11 AM - 8 PM or 3 PM - 12 AM IST) based on project demands and support weekends when necessary.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience integrating Salesforce with other systems using Web Services (REST or SOAP) or middleware.
• Certified Salesforce.com Platform Developer or Administrator.
• Experience with DevOps tools such as OwnBackup, AutoRabbit/Copado, SonarQube, or similar Salesforce platform-focused tools.

Who You Are

• Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be familiar with the Salesforce DevOps model, Changesets, Metadata, and Salesforce Setup configurations.
• Demonstrate the ability to work proactively and independently, or as part of a team, in a fast-paced AGILE-SCRUM environment.
• Exhibit a strong drive to continuously improve skills in software development, frameworks, and technologies.
