DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a Software Development Manager III to lead our International Co-branded Credit Cards (ICCS) Acquisitions team. As part of Amazon Payments, we deliver core components for cobranded credit card systems with a focus on customer obsession.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage teams of software development engineers, testers, and designers to design, implement, test, launch, and maintain Cobranded Credit Card experiences.
- Influence overall strategy by defining product features, driving system architecture, and establishing best-practices for quality products.
- Cultivate well-rounded skills in leadership, effective project management, and diverse technologies/processes.
- Build strong development teams and create career growth plans for reporting engineers.
About the Team:
The ICCS Acquisition team owns the technology for acquiring Co-branded Credit Cards (CBCC) customers in the UK, JP, and DE markets. Responsibilities include end-to-end customer experience management (discovery, sign-up, activation), enabling various acquisition channels, managing Amazon-hosted application forms, integrating KYC with bank partners, and onboarding cards into Amazon systems.
Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of total engineering experience
- 8+ years leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services
- In-depth knowledge of full software/hardware/networks lifecycle practices (coding standards, reviews, source control, build processes, testing, certification, operations)
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Proven experience designing/architecting new and existing systems focusing on design patterns, reliability, and scaling
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills for collecting requirements from users/leadership and describing technical designs and product strategy.
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching Software Engineers to improve team effectiveness and product quality.
