Key Job Responsibilities

• Collaborate with experienced, cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceptualize, design, and bring innovative products and services to market.
• Design and build innovative technologies within a large, distributed computing environment, contributing to fundamental industry changes.
• Develop solutions for running predictions on distributed systems, leveraging exposure to innovative technologies at incredible scale and speed.
• Construct scalable, fault-tolerant, cost-effective, and user-friendly distributed storage, index, and query systems.
• Design and implement the right solutions, starting with broadly defined problems.
• Work within an agile framework to deliver high-quality software.

Basic Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field at the time of application.
• Familiarity with the syntax of programming languages such as Java, C/C++, or Python.
• Knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals including object-oriented design, algorithm design, data structures, problem-solving, and complexity analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous internship experience.
• Experience with distributed, multi-tiered systems, algorithms, and relational databases.
• Experience in optimization mathematics, such as linear and non-linear programming.
• Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and proposed solutions.
• Adept at handling ambiguous or undefined problems and possessing the ability to think abstractly.
