Job Opportunity: Software Development Engineer (Full Stack)

Whitefield Careers is seeking a proactive and ownership-driven Software Development Engineer with 2.5 years of experience for our Noida, India office. This role is ideal for engineers who excel in identifying requirements, gaps, and proposing solutions independently, with a strong emphasis on backend development and cloud-native systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take full end-to-end ownership of features, from design and implementation to testing, deployment, and post-release stability.
• Focus on backend development using Node.js and TypeScript to design and implement scalable RESTful APIs with robust validation, error handling, and observability.
• Collaborate effectively with frontend developers working on React-based applications to ensure seamless integration.
• Proactively identify and address technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and reliability issues.
• Conduct thorough debugging and resolution of production issues, including root-cause analysis and implementation of long-term fixes.
• Leverage AWS services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, and API Gateway for cloud-based solutions.
• Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles for repeatable and maintainable cloud resource provisioning.
• Participate actively in code reviews, contributing constructive feedback to maintain high-quality standards.
• Work closely with product and support teams to refine requirements and propose practical technical strategies.

Required Skills and Experience:

• A minimum of 2.5 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Solid backend development expertise with Node.js.
• Proven experience in designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, and API Gateway.
• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK, Pulumi).
• Working knowledge of React or similar frontend frameworks.
• Familiarity with Git, code reviews, and collaborative development workflows.
• Comfortable debugging issues using logs, metrics, and API testing tools (e.g., Postman, browser developer tools).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience owning features or modules in production systems.
• Proven ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions.
• Experience in improving and optimizing existing systems, not just building new ones.
