Software Development Engineer II

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Software Development Engineer II (Backend) to join our high-impact engineering team. As an SDE-II, you will design and build scalable microservices that power critical ad delivery systems for live sports, premium entertainment, and personalized user experiences.

Your Mission: Operate at the intersection of scale, reliability, and real-time decision-making while owning end-to-end ownership of complex backend services.

We build across the full adtech stack—from high-throughput relational/document stores to deeply integrated client experiences. Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust, secure microservices supporting JioStar's core applications.
• Develop efficient, maintainable Java/Golang/Python solutions with rigorous unit testing and code review participation.
• Optimize system performance to ensure sub-second server response times using diverse data stores (relational, NoSQL, graph) and messaging systems like Kafka.
• Take full ownership of cloud infrastructure lifecycle on AWS.
• Influence architecture decisions by continuously evaluating emerging technologies relevant to adtech.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Managers to translate business objectives into scalable technical solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns, fostering functional growth within the domain.

Required Skills & Attributes

• Languages: Proficiency in Java, Golang, or Python is essential.
• Architecture: Experience building distributed Domain-Driven Design (DDD) microservices.
• Data: Strong fundamentals on database/index stores and data modeling for high-volume systems.
• Cloud & DevOps: Hands-on experience with AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and messaging queues (Kafka).

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science. We are looking for candidates with 2-4 years of backend development experience who thrive in large-scale production environments.
