Software Development Engineer I

Ruloans is hiring a Full-stack Software Development Engineer I (SDE-1) to build features across RuConnect, the Ruloans B2C apps, and the CRM that runs India's largest loan distribution network.

Role Snapshot:

This is a full-time role based in Noida for candidates with 1–3 years of professional software development experience. You will report to an Engineering Manager or Tech Lead and receive competitive compensation.

About the Role:

You will ship code used daily by partners, borrowers, and internal teams on our Ruconnect web/mobile apps (loan application journeys, lender flows), B2C apps (eligibility checks, credit reports) and CRM systems. You may work with APIs for lenders/service providers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build features end-to-end: database schema, backend APIs, responsive web screens.
• Write clean, tested code and participate in reviews.
• Integrate third-party/lender APIs with proper error handling.
• Own API reporting (uptime, latency) and follow up on SLA breaches.
• Monitor p95/p99 latency, optimize slow endpoints via indexing/caching/async processing.
• Share weekly API health reports with trends and actions taken.
• Write efficient SQL/NoSQL queries; fix performance issues.
• Turn PRDs/Figma designs into features.
• Debug production issues using logs/metrics.
• Maintain documentation/release notes.
• Follow secure coding practices for PII and financial data.

Requirements:

• B.Tech/B.E./MCA in CS or related field, OR equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years building/shipping production systems.
• Strong JS/TypeScript fundamentals.
• Backend: Node.js (Express/NestJS); Go working knowledge; Python plus.
• Frontend: React, Next.js, HTML/CSS responsive design.
• Databases: MySQL/PostgreSQL + MongoDB (joins/indexes/aggregations).
• REST API design, Auth (JWT/OAuth), integration.
• Access Control: RBAC and ABAC implementation understanding.
• API Protection: Rate limiting/throttling (Redis/token bucket), validation, idempotency.
• Debugging/Monitoring: ELK stack, APM tools, latency percentiles reporting.
• Queues/Async: RabbitMQ/Kafka/Redis basics; retries/DLQs/idempotent consumers.
• Secure Coding: OWASP Top 10 prevention (SQL injection/XSS/etc.), secrets handling.
• Encryption: TLS/AES/password hashing/token signing/key management.
• Load Balancing/Scaling: AWS ALB/NLB, Nginx health checks/stateless scaling.
• Frontend UX: Debouncing/throttling to prevent duplicate submissions.
• AI-Assisted Dev:
  • Claude Code/Cursor/GitHub Copilot usage and critical review of generated code.
  • Literacy in LLM APIs, prompt design, RAG basics.
  • CI/CD: Git workflows, GitHub Actions/Jenkins pipelines, Docker/Kubernetes basics.
  • Communication:
    • Clear English/Hindi; ownership through production.
