Software Development Engineer

About the Role

As a Staff Backend Engineer (Level 4) in Gurugram, you will own the design and reliability of critical services within Agoda's high-scale distributed systems. You will architect fault-tolerant solutions powering inventory, pricing, booking, payments, and customer platforms using modern technologies like Scala, Go, Java, Kotlin, Kafka, and Aerospike.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical leader for your domain, making independent architectural decisions under ambiguity.
• Design and build scalable microservices with high availability, low latency, and zero-downtime expectations.
• Mentor engineers on the team, driving structured growth initiatives beyond assigned tasks.
• Collaborate with product stakeholders to translate business needs into technical priorities.
• Handle production issues end-to-end, leading Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implementation of improvements.
