About The Role

WEX Mobility Engineering team is seeking a skilled Full Stack Software Engineer. In this position, you will design and build scalable APIs, backend services, and data pipelines that power our next-generation fleet and payments platforms.
Your Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain robust full-stack solutions with an emphasis on microservices architectures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, maintainable software in a DevOps environment using modern event-driven patterns (Kafka).
• Migrate legacy financial systems (ERP) to Microservice-based hybrid models and implement Change Data Capture (CDC) strategies for data synchronization pipelines.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and own the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Troubleshoot critical production issues and provide mentorship to junior developers.

Your Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 6+ years of hands-on experience developing applications using Java, Python, Node.js, and Kafka.
• 3+ years of specific experience designing REST APIs and working with event streaming platforms like Apache Kafka (including SMS/Dead Letter Queues).
• Strong proficiency in relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle) or NoSQL solutions (Snowflake), along with JSON/XML data interchange formats.
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments, CI/CD pipelines, and source control tools (Git).

Nice to Have:

• Experience in financial platforms like PeopleSoft, EBS, or SAP integration workflows.
• Knowledge of cloud-native services on AWS, containerization with Docker/Kubernetes, and modern front-end frameworks (React/Angular/Vue.js).
