The Role: Software Development Engineer

As a Software Development Engineer, you will be a key contributor to our engineering team, focused on developing robust and scalable web applications and reporting tools. You will leverage our diverse tech stack to work on projects that are central to our business operations, dealing with substantial data volumes, high traffic, and advanced cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities in Mumbai:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable software applications using languages such as PHP, Python, JavaScript, Node.js, and Scala.
• Optimize and manage databases, including MySQL and Amazon Redshift, to ensure peak performance and data integrity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive, end-to-end solutions for various business domains.
• Manage deployments using Kubernetes and oversee cloud infrastructure on AWS.
• Resolve intricate technical challenges to ensure our systems efficiently process billions of network requests.
• Produce clean, well-tested, and reliable code, adhering to industry best practices.
• Actively participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and contribute to ongoing process improvements.
• Implement monitoring solutions and performance optimizations for our large-scale web services.

Required Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: PHP, Python, Java, Scala, or Node.js.
• Strong foundation in algorithms and data structures, with practical application experience.
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL) and data warehousing (e.g., Amazon Redshift).
• Solid understanding of web fundamentals, including HTTP protocols, caching strategies, and browser-server communication.
• Familiarity with designing systems capable of handling high-scale traffic and big data environments.
• Proficient understanding of REST API concepts, design principles, and secure authentication methods (e.g., JWT).
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or AWS Code Pipeline.
• Strong knowledge of core AWS Cloud Services (EC2, S3, Lambda, etc.).
• Excellent debugging, problem-solving, and analytical capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications for this Mumbai-based role:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 2 years of professional software development experience, ideally within a high-volume, data-intensive sector.
• Experience with agile development methodologies.
