Software Development Engineer - Darknet & HUMINT Specialist

Fortinet is seeking a talented and motivated Software Development Engineer with expertise in Darknet, HUMINT, and Python automation. This role requires a highly self-directed individual capable of independent work with minimal supervision, leveraging available online resources. The ideal candidate is eager to learn and adapt to new technologies and programming languages.

Key Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor the cybercrime underground, including Clearnet and Darknet activities, to identify emerging threats and criminal behaviors.
• Identify, evaluate, and integrate new data sources relevant to cybercrime intelligence.
• Produce comprehensive research reports and client-facing deliverables.
• Engage with threat actors and automate routine tasks to enhance efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Utilize advanced Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) techniques across the surface, deep, and dark web to detect malicious activities targeting Fortinet's customers and related organizations.
• Provide support for customer queries, potentially including off-hours as required.

Desired Technical Skills

• Proficiency in programming, with a strong preference for Python.
• Proven experience in automation development.
• Solid understanding of computer and networking fundamentals.
• Familiarity with the DarkNet, Deep Web, and other sources of cybercriminal intelligence.
• In-depth knowledge of diverse security technologies.
• A strong community presence, including notable publications of papers, exploits, or vulnerability disclosures, is a significant advantage.
• Knowledge of cyber threats, malware, Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs), and exploit techniques.
• Active engagement with online communities such as forums, IRC, Jabber, Discord, and Telegram.
• Experience in vulnerability assessment and penetration testing is a plus.
• Relevant certifications like CEH or OSCP are beneficial but not mandatory.
