Role: Software Developer
Key Responsibilities:
Follow due SDLC process for different phases of development—like design, development, unit testing, maintenance.
Understand the requirements clearly from Functional specs and future roadmap, write and update software design specs for the solution.
Participate and invite peer review for design and coding.
Support the automation requirements of continuous integration and continuous deployments.
Handle customer escalations and special requests in a timely manner.
Work with the rest of the team in a professional manner and show ownership and commitment.
Timely delivery of software product releases.
Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable and high-performance backend applications using Python and Django.
Stay current with relevant technologies and contribute to continuous improvement of the team's engineering practices.
Identify opportunities to leverage AI and Generative AI to improve product capabilities, developer productivity, and business processes.

Skills and Experience:
Mandatory Skills:
3-4+ years of professional software development experience, including at least 3 years of hands-on work with Python and Django.
Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript.
Experience building and maintaining production-grade RESTful APIs using Django RESTFramework (DRF).
Solid understanding of SQL databases, with working knowledge of NoSQL concepts.
Strong grasp of core engineering fundamentals: OOP, MVC, RESTful API design, ORM, authentication/authorization, data structures & algorithms (DSA), and common design patterns.
Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows (branching strategies, pull requests, code reviews).
Working knowledge of Linux/Unix environments, with exposure to deployment processes and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong debugging, analytical, and structured problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (e.g., S3, EC2, RDS, CloudFront) for building and deploying cloud-based applications.
Familiarity with Generative AI and Large Language Model (LLM) concepts.
Ability to quickly learn new technologies and apply structured thinking to complex problems.
Experience writing unit and integration tests, with a focus on maintaining code quality.

Preferred Skills:
Working knowledge of FastAPI and/or Angular.
Exposure to AI application development, prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), embeddings, vector databases, semantic search, or AI agents.
Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs and building AI-powered product features.
Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration tools.
Understanding of microservices architecture and API gateway patterns.
Experience mentoring junior engineers or leading small technical initiatives.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
