Key job responsibilities
- Collaborate with a diverse team of Amazonians to conceptualize, design, and launch innovative products and services.
- Develop cutting-edge technologies within a large-scale distributed computing framework and contribute to industry-defining advancements.
- Engineer solutions for running predictions on distributed systems, gaining exposure to advanced technologies operating at immense scale and speed.
- Construct scalable, fault-tolerant, cost-effective, and user-friendly distributed storage, indexing, and query systems.
- Design and implement effective solutions for broadly defined problems.
- Work within an agile methodology to deliver high-quality software.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals, including object-oriented design, algorithm design, data structures, problem-solving, and complexity analysis.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, Java, or Perl.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior technical internship experience.
- Experience with distributed, multi-tiered systems, algorithms, and relational databases.
- Background in optimization mathematics, including linear and nonlinear programming.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical challenges and proposed solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to manage ambiguous or undefined problems and to think abstractly.
