Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with diverse, experienced Amazonians to conceptualize, design, and launch innovative products and services.
• Develop groundbreaking technologies within a vast distributed computing infrastructure, influencing industry advancements.
• Engineer solutions for predictions on distributed systems, leveraging state-of-the-art technologies at an unprecedented scale and speed.
• Construct scalable, fault-tolerant, cost-effective, and user-friendly distributed storage, indexing, and query systems.
• Design and implement optimal solutions for broadly defined problems.
• Contribute to high-quality software delivery within an agile development framework.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals, including object-oriented design, algorithm design, data structures, problem-solving, and complexity analysis.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, Java, or Perl.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior technical internship experience.
• Experience with distributed, multi-tiered systems, algorithms, and relational databases.
• Familiarity with optimization mathematics, including linear and nonlinear programming.
• Ability to clearly articulate technical challenges and proposed solutions.
• Aptitude for navigating and resolving ambiguous or undefined problems, with a capacity for abstract thinking.
