Social Media and Community Specialist at PurposeMed (Canada)
PurposeMed, a prominent Canadian healthtech company, is seeking a dynamic Social Media & Community Specialist to elevate their brand presence. This role is pivotal in managing and expanding PurposeMed's social media footprint, fostering meaningful engagement with the LGBTQ2S+ community, and crafting compelling content that resonates with their unique brand voice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and grow all social media channels (Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.) with a culturally relevant brand voice to drive engagement, brand awareness, and patient growth.
- Monitor and moderate comments and direct messages across all content, ensuring a supportive and inclusive community environment.
- Actively engage with followers, creators, and relevant cultural accounts to foster a strong connection with ongoing conversations.
- Cultivate user-generated content and encourage authentic interactions with patients, creators, and brand advocates.
- Collaborate with paid media and creative teams to ensure cohesive organic and paid social media strategies.
- Scale the adult creator program across key social platforms, including sourcing, contracting, and onboarding new creators weekly.
- Ensure all creator-generated content adheres to Freddie's brand and compliance standards.
- Align organic creator content with paid strategies to optimize efficiency and conversions.
- Own monthly performance goals and continuously optimize the creator program to achieve conversion targets.
- Produce and edit short-form videos, memes, and visuals that appeal to Freddie's audience, from timely trend reactions to evergreen educational content.
- Partner with internal creative teams, external partners, and creators to execute campaign ideas across social media.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the brand's tone and visual identity to ensure consistency in all content.
- Stay informed about social media trends and quickly capitalize on opportunities to keep Freddie at the forefront of digital conversations.
- Attend in-person events, including Pride and community gatherings, to capture on-the-ground content and represent Freddie.
- Report on social media performance, engagement trends, and audience insights, providing recommendations for growth and optimization.
- Analyze content performance to inform future creative strategies and maximize impact.
- Drive organic social media performance as a revenue-generating channel, with clear accountability for sign-ups and conversions, and develop strategies to increase acquisition through content and community engagement.
- Explore and test emerging social platforms to identify new growth opportunities for Freddie.
- Serve as the primary liaison with 3PL partners, managing inventory, shipping logistics, and resolving fulfillment issues for timely and cost-effective delivery of member perks.
- Oversee the end-to-end delivery of member benefit items, ensuring a high-quality unboxing experience and reliable supply to enhance patient satisfaction.
- Manage the vendor sourcing and qualification process for member benefit supplies, negotiating terms and securing cost-effective partnerships.
- Track and manage vendor contracts, timelines, and budgets for all merchandise and kits.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience managing social media for a brand, agency, or creator, preferably in lifestyle, healthcare, or community-driven industries.
- Strong content creation skills, including copywriting, photo/video editing, and graphic design (Canva proficiency required; Adobe Creative Suite a plus).
- Solid understanding of social media strategy, community management, and analytics, including trend tracking, engagement growth, and reporting.
- Proven ability to stay on top of culture and identify trending topics, adapting them for Freddie's audience.
- Demonstrated experience working with external stakeholders and managing multiple conversations simultaneously.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple platforms, deadlines, and priorities.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative and proactive teamwork approach.
- Comfort with light administrative tasks supporting reporting, scheduling, and influencer coordination.
- Valid passport for occasional travel across Canada and the U.S. for events like Pride and community initiatives.
- Deep passion for PurposeMed's mission and a strong understanding of the LGBTQ2S+ community, culture, and conversations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with viral content or building a strong personal or brand social presence.
- Expertise in TikTok trends, meme culture, or short-form storytelling.
- Comfort being on camera.
- Experience managing social media for brands in health, wellness, or LGBTQ2S+ spaces.
- Fluency in emerging platforms and identifying new opportunities for brand presence.
