SOC L1 Analyst

Join Birlasoft as a SOC L1 Analyst in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. This role requires a university degree in Computer Science/IT and 1-3 years of experience. You will provide technical and functional support to L2/L3 teams, triaging, investigating, documenting, and closing security incidents and service requests within defined SLAs. Understanding information security policies and best practices within Birlasoft environments is crucial. You will inform the L2/L3 team of proactive and reactive measures for security policy adherence and review metrics from monitoring systems for patterns and anomalies.

Responsibilities include supporting incident response activities by collecting and preserving evidence, performing initial analysis, and escalating per playbooks. You will ensure incidents are handled consistently with established playbooks, monitor SIEM and logging for potential threats, and understand the global threat environment and security best practices. This role also involves assisting with the triage of service requests and threat hunting by validating suspicious activity in logs/EDR and escalating findings. You will interface with technical personnel to resolve critical issues and advise leadership on incidents and countermeasures.

Required qualifications include 1-3 years of experience in Information Security or SOC operations, with 1-2 years in a SOC environment. Familiarity with industry analysis frameworks (Kill Chain, Diamond Model, MITRE ATT&CK, NIST Incident Response) is essential. Knowledge of Cloud Computing Fundamentals, EDR, DLP, and Firewalls, along with a thorough understanding of fundamental security and network concepts (OS, intrusion detection, TCP/IP, ports), is required. Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, initiative, results orientation, and the ability to work under stress in high-pressure situations are also key.
