About the Role:
Akati Security is hiring Cyber Security Threat Analysts to join our team and contribute to our mission of protecting digital assets through advanced threat detection and response. This role involves analyzing security events, creating SIEM use cases, and conducting proactive threat hunting to identify and mitigate cyber threats.

Core Responsibilities:

1. Incident Response: Understand the IR lifecycle, triage alerts, classify severity, and perform log analysis across endpoints, networks, cloud, and applications. Familiarity with the MITRE ATT&CK framework is essential for mapping attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
   
2. SIEM Use-Case Creation/Fine-Tuning: Develop and optimize SIEM use cases using Splunk. Write SPL queries, refine correlation rules, and reduce false positives while maintaining detection accuracy. Experience with data ingestion, parsing, and field extraction is required.
   
3. Threat Hunting: Apply hypothesis-driven methodologies, correlate threat intelligence feeds (OSINT, commercial, ISACs), and write custom search queries for anomaly detection. Baseline and anomaly detection thinking is a must.
   

Requirements:

• Technical Skills:
  - Incident Response, SIEM (Splunk), threat hunting, malware analysis, and case management tools (ServiceNow, JIRA).
  - Knowledge of networking, operating systems, enterprise integrations, firewalls, routers, and VPN devices.
  
• Certifications:
  - Entry Level: 1+ years experience or international certifications (e.g., EC-Council CEH, CCNA Cyber Security, CompTIA CySA+, CREST).
  - Level 2 Analysts: 2-4 years experience with certifications like OSCP, CRTO, or other relevant cybersecurity credentials.
  
• Soft Skills:
  - Leadership, teamwork, independent decision-making, excellent communication (written/oral), and presentation skills.
  
• Work Schedule:
  - Rotating shifts: Morning, Afternoon, and Night shifts.
