About the Role
The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) is embedded directly with product teams to design, code, test, run, and evolve systems enabling global payments. You will drive adoption of modern reliability practices including SLOs, error budgets, actionable alerts, incident retrospectives, chaos testing, and end-to-end ownership for ACI's high-traffic products.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, deploy, and optimize software to increase product reliability and organizational efficiency.
- Guide reliability practices through the SDLC via architecture reviews, code reviews, platform creation, capacity planning, and chaos testing.
- Maintain service health using monitoring, alerting, self-healing mechanisms, and follow-the-sun incident response protocols.
- Improve service reliability through blameless post-incident reviews and proactive coding to prevent recurrence.
- Serve as a technical and cultural leader within your line of business.
- Evolving resilience strategies leveraging industry-leading tools for cross-site redundancy.
- Enforce deployment standards, participate in change review boards, and contribute to capacity planning and business continuity testing.
- Interface directly with key clients and support sales responses by aligning costs, SLAs, and technology offers with DevOps teams.
Requirements
A BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is required. You must have strong coding skills (Java, Go, Shell, Python), knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design. Passion for debugging, optimizing code, and automation is essential.
You should possess practical knowledge with RDBs like PostgreSQL and Oracle, NoSQL stores such as Cassandra, and messaging systems including Kafka, RabbitMQ, and MQ. Strong experience in production-level Linux environments on Azure Cloud is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous SRE or Production Engineering role experience.
- Familiarity with automation tools like Ansible and Jenkins.
- Knowledge of ACI-specific platforms (BASE24-eps, GOAFT, NCPCOM/XPNET).
- Experience working in globally distributed teams.
