About This Role
Play a key role in ensuring system reliability at one of the world's leading global banks. As a Site Reliability Engineer II within the Commercial & Investment Bank Payments Technology team, you will use technology to solve business problems and leverage software engineering best practices.
Your Responsibilities:
- Execute small to medium projects independently, eventually designing and delivering complex solutions on your own.
- Leverage technology to solve business problems by writing high-quality, maintainable, and robust code following industry best practices.
- Triage, examine, diagnose, and resolve incidents in collaboration with cross-functional teams to root out systemic issues.
- Proactively identify toil within your role and eliminate it through systems engineering or application updates.
- Implement observability patterns including service level indicators (SLI), objectives monitoring, and alerting solutions for optimal transparency.
- Utilize enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to accelerate incident triage, troubleshooting, and post-incident analysis while adhering to data sensitivity requirements.
- Leverage AI tools to identify recurring operational risks from signals, prioritizing improvements based on measurable SLO outcomes.
Required Skills:
- Formal training or certification in software engineering with 2+ years of applied experience.
- Proficient understanding of site reliability culture (SRE) and principles including SLI/SLO/SLA management.
- Experience with observability tools such as Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk, etc.
- Strong expertise in AWS services: EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, and networking fundamentals.
- Proficiency in Python or Java/Spring Boot for automation and AI/ML modeling to reduce toil.
- Strong debugging skills across distributed systems (logs/metrics analysis).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with container orchestration and networking technologies.
- Experience applying AI-assisted tools to reduce support toil.
