Site Reliability Engineer II

Role Overview:
Play a key role in ensuring system reliability at JPMorgan & Co. As a Site Reliability Engineer II within the Commercial Investment Bank team, you will use technology to solve business problems and leverage software engineering best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute small to medium projects independently with guidance initially, progressing to independent design and delivery.
• Leverage technology to write high-quality, maintainable code following industry best practices.
• Utilize enterprise-authorized AI capabilities for incident triage, troubleshooting, and post-incident analysis while maintaining security compliance.
• Triage, diagnose, and resolve incidents collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Proactively identify and eliminate toil through systems engineering or application updates.
• Implement observability patterns to improve service level indicators (SLIs), objectives monitoring, and alerting solutions.
• Leverage AI tools to analyze operational signals for recurring risks and prioritize measurable SLO improvements.
  

Required Skills:

• SRE certification or equivalent training with 2+ years of applied experience.
• Expertise in reliability, scalability, security, performance, and enterprise architecture.
• Fluency in Java/Python (e.g., Spring Boot).
• Deep knowledge of technical processes across various disciplines.
• Mastery of observability tools: Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk; CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, Terraform.
• Strong grasp of SDLC, secure development, DevOps practices, and root-cause analysis for auto-remediation.
• Experience using AI to enhance SRE workflows with strong validation habits regarding data sensitivity.
• Evaluation skills for AI-assisted operational recommendations ensuring alignment with resiliency expectations.
• Familiarity with monitoring/logging (e.g., Splunk, AppDynamics) and dashboard technologies.
• Hands-on experience with container orchestration: ECS, Kubernetes, Docker.
  

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Tools / Agentic AI for SRE domains.
• Certifications in CI/CD, AI skills (Splunk Administrator certification desired).
