Join a world-renowned financial institution as a Site Reliability Engineer II within the dynamic AI/ML & Data Platform team at JPMorgan Chase. This role is pivotal in ensuring the utmost system reliability for one of the most significant global financial players.

As an SRE II, you will leverage your technology expertise to address complex business challenges, applying robust software engineering best practices to drive excellence. While this position involves independent execution of small to medium-scale projects, you will also have ample opportunities to collaborate with cross-functional teams, enriching your understanding of JPMorgan Chase's business and evolving technologies.

Job Responsibilities

  • Independently manage and execute small to medium projects, progressing from initial guidance to autonomous design and delivery.
  • Apply technology solutions to business problems by developing high-quality, maintainable, and resilient code in accordance with software engineering best practices.
  • Actively participate in incident triaging, diagnosis, and resolution, collaborating with colleagues to identify and address root causes of issues.
  • Proactively identify and automate repetitive tasks (toil) within your role by implementing systems engineering solutions or enhancing application code.
  • Champion observability by implementing and refining service level indicators (SLIs), service level objectives (SLOs), monitoring, and alerting strategies to ensure optimal transparency and analytical capability.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Possess formal training or certification in Software Engineering concepts with a minimum of 2 years of practical application.
  • Proficiency in coding in at least one programming language.
  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) concepts, principles, and practices.
  • Experience with observability tools and techniques, including white and black box monitoring, SLO-based alerting, and telemetry collection, utilizing platforms such as Grafana, Dynomitrace, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk, and others.
  • Working knowledge of containerization technologies or common server operating systems like Linux and Windows.
  • Developing expertise in software, applications, and technical processes within a specific discipline (e.g., Cloud, AI, Android).
  • Emerging understanding of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) tools, including Jenkins, GitLab, or Terraform.
  • Basic knowledge of common networking technologies.
