Site Reliability Engineer

About The Role

Join Viasat's Customer Engineering team as a Site Reliability Engineer. You will be responsible for maintaining and developing the reliability, scalability, and performance of our services for enterprise customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot technical issues to support global customers in high-paced environments.
• Design and build automated alerts to proactively monitor service health.
• Cultivate a culture of automation, eliminating manual activity where possible to deliver scalable solutions.
• Collaborate closely with Technical Account Managers and Engineering teams to prioritize customer issues.
• Develop monitoring scripts/tools using Python for effective Service observation.
• Create performance reports for technical stakeholders and management.

Required Skills:

• 2+ years in Network Operations, Product Support, or SRE workflows.
• Advanced proficiency in modern programming languages (Python).
• Strong networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, IPSEC, VPN, NAT, Routing Protocols, AAA.
• Familiarity with data analytics tools such as Splunk and Kibana.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience analyzing data for operational efficiencies.
• Background in telecom/wireless networks or Satcom technology.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and Big Query.
