Site Reliability Engineer

As a Site Reliability Engineer at Candescent, you will be instrumental in maintaining and scaling production services and servers for our complex, high-throughput cloud offerings. You will serve as a critical liaison, owning the integration between development, quality assurance, security, and operations. Your focus will be on enhancing scalability, service reliability, capacity, and performance. This role demands strong software engineering skills applied to operational challenges, including writing automation code for provisioning and managing infrastructure at scale.

You will drive continuous improvements in our software delivery processes and practices, collaborating with a multidisciplinary, multi-location team to accelerate product development. Extensive use of automation will be key in designing, configuring, managing, and monitoring systems that support our product teams. Responsibilities include participating in disaster recovery planning and execution, and maintaining/patching servers for our SaaS products across on-premises datacenters and cloud environments (GCP & Azure).

Collaboration with development teams is essential to ship code to production using CI/CD and AppSec tooling. You will work closely with these teams to define and implement SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs. In critical situations and production incidents, you will provide timely assistance and remediation solutions to resolve service problems, which may involve on-call duties.

Key activities include developing monitoring architectures, implementing monitoring agents, building dashboards, and managing escalations and alerts. You will also participate in incident management, driving root cause analysis (RCA) and risk management processes. A rotating on-call schedule will require periodic remote access to systems during off-hours to address production outages.
