Barclays is seeking a dedicated Site Reliability Engineer with a focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to join our dynamic team in Pune, India. In this role, you will leverage advanced software engineering techniques, robust automation, and best practices in incident response to guarantee the reliability, availability, and scalability of our critical systems and platforms. Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the availability, performance, and scalability of systems and services through proactive monitoring, maintenance, and capacity planning.
• Effectively resolve, analyze, and respond to system outages and disruptions, implementing measures to prevent recurrence.
• Develop tools and scripts to automate operational processes, enhancing efficiency and system resilience.
• Monitor and optimize system performance and resource usage, identifying and addressing bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with development teams to embed reliability, scalability, and performance best practices into the software development lifecycle.
• Stay abreast of industry technology trends and innovations, contributing to a culture of technical excellence.

Required Skills:

• Google Certified Professional and/or Google Certified Associate certifications.
• Proficiency in Python and Terraform with demonstrable hands-on coding experience within the last 2 years.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in GitLab for zero-touch deployments.
• Proven ability to create automation and innovations that boost productivity.
• Experience with the configuration and troubleshooting of GCP Landing Zones.
• A strong ability to identify the root causes of instability in high-traffic, distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with cloud deployment, monitoring, and operational visualization tools.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills for seamless integration and deployment.

Highly Valued Skills:

• Familiarity with the ITIL Framework.
• Working knowledge of secondary cloud platforms such as AWS/Azure.
• Practical experience in writing and updating technical documentation.
• Understanding of the software delivery lifecycle and release management.
