About the Team: NEO (Network Engineering & Operations) - ISE (Network-Auth AAA)
At Cisco IT's NEO team, we are responsible for the architecture, design, implementation, operation, and automation of Cisco's internal production networks. Within the ISE (Network-Auth AAA) team, we ensure Cisco's workforce can seamlessly connect to wired, wireless, VPN, and lab networks globally. Leveraging Cisco's own product, ISE, at scale in a live production environment provides a unique opportunity to collaborate with business units and shape the future of network authentication and access solutions for the industry. This global team is dedicated to enabling Cisco employees, business units, partners, and contingent workforce to connect to the network reliably every day.
Your Impact: Senior Network Automation & Security Engineer
As a Senior Engineer with expertise in network security and automation, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategy and delivery of our next-generation software-defined networks. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, implementing, and operating global networks for Cisco's premise sites.
- Managing firewall security, access control, and third-party access control policies.
- Contributing to Cisco IT's long-term strategy, vision, and policies.
- Providing solid exposure to the latest Cisco IT infrastructure for WAN and Access hardware and software, including devices like Cat9k's and ASR1K's.
- Developing automation for repetitive tasks to optimize operations and implementations.
- Introducing and integrating new technologies into the production environment.
- Developing and delivering services for enhanced monitoring, measurement, root-cause analysis, and debugging of Cisco premise networks.
- Ensuring the long-term health of the network by contributing to the definition and prediction of network health, availability, and service-level objectives.
- Serving as a technical, engineering, and operational subject matter expert for automation and complex networking systems for partner teams and customers.
- Participating in an on-call rotation to respond to high-priority incidents and resolve issues.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
- Exposure to Python, AI, and automation with 2-3 years of experience.
- Ability to think creatively and innovatively.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Proficiency in AAA skills, CCNA certification, and DevNet knowledge.
