Join Oracle's Health and AI Database Services Team, a vital client-facing organization responsible for supporting over 400 customer databases across diverse geographies. In this role, maintaining Service Level Agreement (SLA) adherence is paramount, directly impacting healthcare businesses that rely on our services. Our mission is to elevate the reliability, scalability, and security of our database platform for mission-critical healthcare applications.
We are building a next-generation platform designed to manage the entire database lifecycle, from provisioning and upgrades to termination, offering a seamless self-service cloud experience for our customers. To achieve these ambitious goals, we are seeking passionate Site Reliability Engineers in India.
What You Will Do:
- Contribute to strategic roadmap projects, focusing on migrating on-premises databases to Oracle Cloud.
- Lead initiatives to migrate databases to the Autonomous Database for optimal performance and efficiency.
- Implement advanced strategies such as partitioning and advanced compression to boost database efficiency and scalability.
- Collaborate with multiple teams to execute roadmap projects effectively.
- Apply your expertise in Oracle Cloud and Data Management to solve complex challenges.
- Serve as a technical advisor for complex Infrastructure and DevOps issues.
- Define and develop monitoring infrastructure criteria, including SLIs and SLOs.
- Develop automation to prevent recurrence of complex operational problems.
- Participate actively in incident management, operational/security maintenance, software performance analysis, and system tuning.
- Drive projects to enhance the availability, scalability, security, and efficiency of Oracle products and services.
- Contribute to team growth through mentoring, knowledge transfer, and team development.
Who You Are:
- Possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Software, Electronics, Operational Research, or Computer System Engineering.
- Demonstrate the ability to thrive in a collaborative, cross-functional team setting.
- Exhibit a strong understanding of core Computer Science concepts.
- Have experience with production operations and best practices for deploying quality code and troubleshooting production issues.
- Bring 2+ years of experience with MySQL and Oracle Database, Oracle Cloud, and DevOps tools, along with database management.
- Possess 2+ years of experience and working knowledge in scripting languages such as Python, PLSQL, Perl, and/or Shell Scripting.
- Have 2+ years of experience in the development, management, and organization of Golden Gate replication.
- Can effectively communicate technical ideas verbally and in writing, including technical proposals, design specifications, architecture diagrams, and presentations.
- Familiar with Infrastructure as Code (IaaC) tools like Shepherd and Terraform.
- Knowledgeable about CI/CD Platforms and components, such as Jenkins.
- Proficient with orchestration tools like Ansible and Chef.
- Skilled in version control using Git.
- Experienced with Maximum Availability Architecture and Best Practices for Oracle Database & Exadata.
- Understanding of REST Architecture and JSON is a plus.
- Experience building and managing Linux OS systems with a solid grasp of the Linux kernel (IO, Network, etc.) and the ability to read and understand source code.
