Site Engineer

Johnson Controls is seeking a Project Engineer (Contingent worker) for their Kolkata, India operations. This role is within the APAC region and focuses on delivering engineering and installation solutions within the project delivery organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with customer specifications and QA standards for system production, testing, and documentation. Key responsibilities include managing and delivering engineering tasks for large construction, smaller fit-out, and expansion projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide engineering and installation solutions for project delivery.
• Ensure production, testing, and documentation control meet customer specifications and QA standards.
• Manage and deliver engineering tasks for various project sizes.

What you will do:

• Manage and deliver engineering tasks for large construction, smaller fit-out, and expansion projects.
• Ensure system production, testing, and documentation control are compliant with customer specifications and QA standards.

How you will do it:

• Utilize knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Perform installation and commissioning of chillers, pumps, panels, AHUs, and low-side activities.
• Coordinate with engineers and supervise structural, controls, and plumbing professionals.
• Design mechanical work for industrial projects and identify cost-saving measures.
• Collaborate with project managers to focus on deliverable scope and improve project financials.
• Engage proactively with customers to understand their needs, scope, and existing systems.
• Assist in the bid phase by providing technical recommendations and reviews to the Sales team.
• Provide leadership to junior engineers, technicians, and apprentices.

What we are looking for:

• Bachelor's degree with 4-6 years of experience or a Diploma with 6-7 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Windows, MS Projects, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access.
• Strong hands-on experience in HVAC, refrigeration packages, chillers, pumps, low-side piping, and HVAC engineering.
• A focused, collaborative, and passionate approach to project execution in complex environments.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and management skills.
• High organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing environments.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and influence others.
