Full Job Description
Johnson Controls is seeking a Project Engineer (Contingent Worker) to join our project delivery organization. This role is responsible for providing engineering and installation solutions, ensuring compliance with customer specifications and QA standards for system production, testing, and documentation. You will manage engineering tasks for large construction, fit-out, and expansion projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing engineering and installation solutions within the project delivery organization.
- Ensuring production, testing, and documentation control comply with customer specifications and QA standards.
- Delivering and managing engineering tasks for various project sizes.
- Utilizing knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Performing installation and commissioning of chillers, pumps, panels, AHUs, and low-side activities.
- Coordinating with engineers and supervising structural, controls, and plumbing professional services.
- Designing mechanical work for industrial projects and identifying cost-saving measures.
- Collaborating with the project manager on deliverables and improving project financials.
- Engaging proactively with customers to understand their needs, scope, and existing systems.
- Assisting in the bid phase by providing technical recommendations and reviews to Sales.
- Leading junior engineers, technicians, and apprentices as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 4-6 years of experience or Diploma with 6-7 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced computer skills, including MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access.
- Strong hands-on experience in HVAC, refrigeration packages, chillers, pumps, low-side piping, and HVAC engineering.
- A focused, collaborative, and passionate approach to project execution, thriving in complex environments.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and management skills.
- High organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing environments.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence others.
