Service Writer Lead

The City of Savannah Fleet Services Department seeks an energetic and forward-thinking individual to serve as a Service Writer. This pivotal role is responsible for the efficient scheduling of all maintenance and repair activities for the city's extensive fleet of equipment and vehicles.

Key responsibilities include:

• Scheduling and coordinating all vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair operations.
• Meticulously maintaining comprehensive vehicle information, maintenance histories, and repair records within a computerized system.
• Collaborating with external departments to identify optimal times for preventative maintenance and scheduled repairs, ensuring minimal disruption to their operations.
• Coordinating maintenance schedules effectively with external department staff.
• Clearly communicating the requirements of maintenance procedures, including necessary cool-down times and scheduling windows.
• Assisting in the identification and provision of spare equipment or loaner vehicles when required.
• Performing other related duties as assigned to support departmental goals.
