Senior Vice President, Data Science & Analytics (North America)

About the Job

Experian is seeking a transformative leader for the role of Senior Vice President, Data Science & Analytics for the North America region, specifically within our Financial Services & Data business. This pivotal position reports directly to the Chief Product and Analytics Officer of Financial Services & Data and will be instrumental in shaping the future of data science and analytics at Experian. The role will drive innovation, enhance customer insights, and evolve how Experian leverages data to support existing clients and pioneer new solutions.

Our Financial Services & Data (FSD) business is at the forefront of enabling decision-making and innovation across the financial ecosystem. We collaborate with premier banks, fintechs, and capital markets firms, providing trusted data, sophisticated analytics, and cloud-based software to empower clients to make more informed, agile, and confident decisions.

The successful candidate will lead the strategic direction and execution of analytics, data science, research, and innovation initiatives. This role demands a unique combination of strategic foresight and practical expertise, focusing on the application of AI and analytics across our product portfolio, designing forward-thinking solutions aligned with business objectives, and maintaining a critical balance between growth and risk management.

We are looking for a visionary leader with robust business and technical acumen, profound expertise in data and analytics, and a demonstrated ability to inspire teams, cultivate trust among a wide array of stakeholders, and effectively drive change within a large-scale, data-intensive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement a comprehensive Analytics strategy, effectively communicating it to company executives, external partners, and customers.
  • Lead and inspire a team of data professionals, fostering the development of a world-class data capability.
  • Implement advanced models, including Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), to enhance new product features, improve operational quality, and deliver personalized experiences for Experian's customers and partners.
  • Act as the steward of data, recognizing it as a strategic business asset, a key revenue driver, and a critical component of risk mitigation for Experian.
  • Identify emerging trends and evolving user behaviors that could impact investments and drive innovation by leveraging key technology advancements.
  • Oversee the development of requirements, principles, models, and designs for data applications and use cases.
  • Evaluate emerging trends such as big data, open data, linked data, ML/AI, and assess their impact on the future enterprise data architecture.
  • Engage in consultative partnerships with leaders in product management, sales, marketing, technology, and delivery to provide analytical insights that enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Conduct research and case studies on competitor analytics and other leading-edge trends to determine their potential utility.
  • Contribute to the broader leadership agenda as an integral member of the business unit leadership team.

  • Strategic thinker adept at understanding the competitive landscape to drive current period results while investing for future success.

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in developing and leading business-driven data strategies, coupled with progressive management and leadership experience.
  • Substantial depth of knowledge in Data Technology, including a detailed understanding of technology architecture, the data development lifecycle, and relevant tools and technologies.
  • Experience with advanced data analytics, predictive modeling, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing data and platform strategies to achieve transformative business evolution.
  • An MBA or equivalent experience in Data Science, Analytics, or a related field is preferred.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across various U.S. geographic markets. The base pay range for this position is listed above. Individual pay within this range is determined by work location and factors such as job-related skills, experience, and education. This position is also eligible for variable pay opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package.
