Senior UI/UX Designer – International & European Products

Sportzinteractive is seeking a highly experienced Senior UI Designer with a strong focus on international and European UI design standards. This critical role involves owning and delivering high-quality user interfaces for global digital products, while simultaneously fostering an awareness and appreciation of these standards within the broader design team. You will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for European design sensibilities, ensuring our designs meet and exceed these expectations. The position offers a blend of leadership, where you'll guide design efforts for medium-sized projects, and individual contribution on larger, complex initiatives.

This role demands deep hands-on execution skills, extensive knowledge of design systems, and the autonomy to work independently on challenging international projects. You will collaborate closely with Product, Technical, and Sales teams to translate business and functional requirements into intuitive, accessible, and scalable UI solutions. The ideal candidate possesses expert-level UX fundamentals, a keen awareness of usability, and a proven track record of applying UX principles effectively within UI execution.

Key Responsibilities

UI Ownership & Execution

• Independently lead the end-to-end UI design for international web and mobile products.
• Translate product requirements, business objectives, and user needs into clean, intuitive, and scalable interfaces.
• Ensure UI designs align with European and global design sensibilities, prioritizing clarity, simplicity, accessibility, and consistency.
• Establish and maintain a high standard of visual quality, attention to detail, and craft in all design outputs.

Design Structure & Systems

• Define, build, and maintain robust UI design structures and comprehensive design systems for large-scale products.
• Create and manage reusable component libraries that ensure consistency across various platforms and markets.
• Facilitate smooth collaboration and efficient handoffs with the Design and Technical teams for accurate implementation.

Accessibility & Compliance

• Apply strong knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and European accessibility standards (EAA).
• Ensure all products are designed to be inclusive, accessible, and compliant across diverse international markets.
• Proactively identify and address potential accessibility gaps throughout the design process.

Cross-Team Collaboration

• Collaborate effectively with Product, Technical, and Sales teams to align design outcomes with business and technical requirements.
• Clearly articulate design decisions, present trade-offs, and justify design rationale to stakeholders.
• Incorporate feedback constructively while upholding design integrity and usability standards.

Quality & Iteration

• Review designs against established benchmarks for usability, accessibility, and scalability.
• Iterate on designs based on stakeholder feedback, real-world constraints, and product performance insights.
• Balance speed of delivery, design quality, and long-term maintainability in all design decisions.

Required Skills & Experience (Mandatory Skills)

• 12–15 years of hands-on experience in UI / Visual Design for digital products.
• Proven experience designing for international markets, with a particular emphasis on Europe, the UK, and other mature digital ecosystems.
• Strong understanding of UI design structure, interaction patterns, and cross-platform consistency.
• Expert knowledge of layout, typography, color systems, spacing, iconography, and visual hierarchy.
• Extensive experience with design systems, responsive design, and component-based UI frameworks.
• Solid understanding of UX principles, usability, and user-centered design application within UI work.
• Strong working knowledge of accessibility standards, including WCAG and the European Accessibility Act.
• Proficiency in Figma (mandatory), Photoshop, Illustrator, and modern UI workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and take full ownership of international UI projects.
