Senior UI Developer

We are seeking a Senior UI Developer with extensive expertise in Angular and front-end architecture to contribute to our design system and reusable component library that supports the Assent platform. This role involves close collaboration with product designers and engineers across teams to build scalable, accessible, and well-tested UI components.

You will operate within a high-trust CI/CD environment where every commit deploys to production, eliminating the need for a separate QA team. This necessitates writing testable, reliable, and production-ready code. You will take full ownership of component quality, utilizing Playwright for end-to-end testing and Storybook for development and documentation.

Our front-end technology stack includes:

• Angular 18 within an Nx monorepo
• Bootstrap integrated with our custom Meridian design system
• Storybook for interactive documentation and developer collaboration
• Playwright for automated end-to-end testing

As a leader within our UI community of practice, you will help define Assent's approach to building efficient, maintainable, and visually appealing front-end code. Your responsibilities will include:

• Translating business requirements and technical specifications into robust and maintainable software.
• Leading greenfield initiatives, influencing product direction, and mentoring junior engineers across teams to shape technical strategy.
• Managing development outside of core components, including theming, navigation, and menus.
• Developing core services for authorization, authentication, and feature flagging.
• Writing comprehensive tests to ensure code quality in a production-first CI/CD environment.
• Collaborating with product designers on the implementation of our Meridian Design System.
• Championing accessibility, performance, and scalability in all front-end development.
• Mentoring colleagues and maintaining high-quality standards through peer reviews.
• Ensuring secure coding practices are followed according to Assent's security guidelines.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of front-end development experience, with strong proficiency in Angular (12+) and knowledge of C#.
• Expertise in modern front-end build systems, libraries, and testing methodologies.
• Experience in designing and implementing microservices, micro-frontends, and reusable front-end components.
• A solid understanding of RESTful API design, consumption, and integration.
• A user-centric approach with a keen eye for detail and intuitive UX.
• Experience contributing to or maintaining a component library or design system.
• The ability to think holistically, balancing business needs, technical debt, and architectural vision.
• Proficiency in RxJS for reactive programming.
• Experience with Git monorepos and associated tooling like Nx.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS/SCSS, and TypeScript.
• Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming concepts in TypeScript.
• Experience working within Agile teams and collaborating cross-functionally.
• A curious and craftsman-like approach, with a commitment to staying current with front-end innovations.
