Job Overview

As an Applications Development Intermediate Programmer Analyst, you will play a key role in implementing new and updated application systems and programs in collaboration with the Technology team. This position contributes to crucial applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities:

• Leverage expertise in application development procedures and concepts, along with foundational knowledge in other technical domains, to identify and define necessary system enhancements, utilizing scripting tools and code analysis.
• Collaborate with users, clients, and other technology groups to address issues and recommend effective programming solutions, including installation and support of customer-facing systems.
• Apply fundamental programming language knowledge to design specifications.
• Analyze applications to detect vulnerabilities and security concerns, and perform comprehensive testing and debugging.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts.
• Identify challenges, analyze information, and employ evaluative judgment to recommend and implement solutions.
• Resolve issues by selecting and applying appropriate technical solutions based on acquired experience and established precedents.
• Operate with a degree of autonomy and minimal direct supervision.
• Exercise independent judgment and autonomy in decision-making.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for senior stakeholders and team members.
• Make informed business decisions while diligently assessing risks, prioritizing the firm's reputation, and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets by ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to policy, and applying sound ethical judgment in personal behavior, conduct, and business practices. This includes transparently escalating, managing, and reporting control issues.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience within the Financial Services industry.
• Proficiency in hands-on coding with UI technologies such as Angular, ReactJS, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Intermediate-level experience in an Applications Development role.
• Consistent demonstration of clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Experience with componentized development, including expertise in implementing streaming and real-time user experiences (e.g., word/token streaming, live updates, progress/status indicators).
• Ability to design intuitive user interfaces for AI-first experiences, such as chat interfaces, streaming data visualizations, and agentic workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver production UI features and influence architectural decisions.
• Strong understanding of frontend architecture, state management, performance optimization techniques, and responsive design principles.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree, University degree, or equivalent experience.
