About the Role
Mastercard is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to join their Clearing Program team in Pune. This role focuses on analytic platforms and data needs, requiring a passion for coordinating and communicating across teams, managing risk, and prioritizing for your team. Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end delivery of engineering projects for an existing technology product or program, from inception to completion.
- Proactively manage the delivery of engineering work through the engineering team and all dependent organizations.
- Report on progress, ensuring dependencies are covered and issues are escalated.
- Operate across teams and architectures, overseeing gaps in processes and systems, and removing blocking issues to ensure successful delivery.
- Plan and manage a group of related technology projects or activities.
- Gain a deep understanding of the design approaches and technologies utilized in the area.
- Focus on customer experience, build and delivery processes, and problem-solving.
- Work across multiple scrum teams, potentially cross-cutting across products, scrum teams, and/or technologies, or vertically focused on a single product or feature set.
- Align dependent organizations and remove/mitigate blocking issues.
- Work directly with external technology providers and customers.
- Work with limited guidance, seeking help as needed when product and delivery strategies are defined.
- Develop a deep understanding of the business and technical requirements for solutions.
- Understand the needs of engineers and technical operations teams for building, maintaining, and operating systems.
- Recognize complex designs and propose simplified solutions in collaboration with software design engineers and principals.
- Assist customers and engineering teams in making trade-off decisions by considering business goals, technical platform strategy, customer experience, and maintainability.
- Identify and manage the resolution of blocking issues.
- Identify, assess, track, and mitigate issues and risks at multiple levels.
- Write necessary documentation.
- Partner with industry vendors for technology or user experience design components, working with them on implementation plans and roadmaps, and identifying partnership opportunities to increase development velocity and learning.
- Communicate project issues and status concisely and accurately to senior leadership, escalating blocking issues as appropriate.
- Communicate progress, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, and identify/assess/track/mitigate issues/risks at multiple levels.
- Optimize processes across teams.
- Regularly review metrics and proactively seek new data/mechanisms for visibility to ensure program alignment with organizational objectives.
- Anticipate bottlenecks and factor in contingency for unplanned delays.
- Determine if success metrics are in place and define them if not.
- Recognize discordant views and engage in constructive dialogue for resolution.
- Continuously assess development processes, test plans, and operations, working with teams to improve concurrent project delivery.
- Streamline or eliminate redundant processes in architecture, production operations, or business areas.
About You
- Deep understanding of design approaches, technologies, and business drivers in your area.
- Demonstrated understanding of Project Management processes, strategies, and methods.
- Expert-level knowledge of software development processes and Agile practices.
- Experience working in a high-level collaborative environment and promoting teamwork.
- Experience applying analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to predict challenges and proactively head off obstacles.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Experience with data analysis, including writing SQL queries, researching data discrepancies, and data reporting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey critical points efficiently across diverse audiences.
- Passion and experience working on customer-facing emerging products and services.
- Strong sense of personal accountability in decision-making and supervising scrum teams.
- Results-driven with a proven ability to define and communicate project status, risks, and solutions proactively, and to manage support issues to drive root cause resolution.
- High-energy, detail-oriented, proactive, and adaptive, with the ability to work in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to simultaneously manage short-term priorities and long-term initiatives, with experience in agile software development processes, ideally as a scrum master.
- Ability to build solid, trust-based relationships within the team and with stakeholders, becoming a valued thought partner.
- Ability to exercise influence outside of your own teams to achieve organizational results.
