Senior Systems Engineer

Join Arista's Sales Engineering team in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, as a Senior Systems Engineer (Pre-Sales). You will collaborate with industry experts and technical leaders, reporting to the System Engineering Manager. Working alongside skilled field engineers, you'll leverage your technical expertise and business acumen to align Arista's solutions with client objectives. You'll contribute to product development, offerings, and strategic direction in partnership with Product Management and Software Development teams, supported by Arista TAC, proof-of-concept resources, and executive leadership.

In this role, you will provide pre-sales technical systems engineering support for enterprise/commercial customers in Western India. You will act as a trusted advisor, gathering requirements and identifying opportunities with existing and new clients. Partnering with Account Managers, you will address customer pain points through network architectural reviews, Arista product presentations (covering Data Centre, Cognitive Campus including Wi-Fi, CloudVision, Security, Endpoint Security, and Real-time Fabric Monitoring), and architecting solutions using leaf-spine architectures (VxLAN, EVPN) and network overlays. You will conduct hands-on testing for proof-of-concept setups and network designs, propose improvements, respond to RFPs/RFQs, and provide feedback to Product Management and Engineering. You will also represent Arista at industry events, stay updated on competitive landscapes, and author white papers.

Qualifications

• BE/BS/CS/CE technical degree
• Network Industry Certification preferred (e.g., CCIE (R&S), JNCIE)
• 10+ years of L2/L3 networking design and implementation experience, with a focus on Data Centre and Campus networks
• Expertise in routing and switching, including L2/L3 protocols (Cisco, Juniper, Extreme, Aruba)
• Demonstrated experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, Pre-Sales SE, or Network Consulting Engineer preferred
• Previous experience with network overlays preferred
• Expert knowledge in three or more of the following: Ethernet, RSTP/MSTP, VLANs, IP Routing, TCP/IP, BGP, eBGP, VxLAN, EVPN, Multicast, Spanning Tree, QoS
• Expert-level knowledge of industry-standard CLI
• Experience with SDN and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) highly desired
• Previous experience building network automation using Python and Ansible desired
• Knowledge of competitive products, solutions, and services
• Ability to write white papers is a plus
