Senior Systems Engineer - Testing

Abbott Laboratories in Mumbai, India, is seeking a high-caliber Senior Systems Engineer to join the Cardiac Rhythm Management Division. This onsite role focuses on Abbott’s Remote Monitoring products for treating and monitoring cardiac arrhythmias and heart failure. The successful candidate will ensure our implantable devices can be monitored via cloud services, the Merlin.net web application, and our patient transmitters and mobile apps.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute System Test Protocols, including issue and bug reporting.
• Conduct ad-hoc, exploratory, and regression testing of Web Applications and Mobile Apps (Android and iOS).
• Support testing activities for remote monitoring products, working under general supervision with demonstrated leadership.
• Analyze requirements and constraints for assigned system portions and resolve cross-functional issues.
• Apply theoretical principles, evaluation, ingenuity, and creative/analytical techniques to problem-solving.
• Demonstrate technical or organizational leadership within projects.
• Apply technical, clinical, and marketing understanding to resolve project tasks.
• Evaluate and solve technical problems using engineering and scientific principles.
• Exercise technical judgment in planning, organizing, performing, and coordinating systems engineering assignments.
• Stay informed of and communicate technical advancements.
• Utilize best practices for efficient and cost-effective process execution.
• Assist in the overall evaluation of product quality.
• Maintain the Remote Care Systems Engineering lab with up-to-date equipment and software.
• Ensure product quality and compliance with governmental regulations within a quality system environment.
• Demonstrate accountability for work performed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field.
• Experience with general engineering/science principles and laboratory skills.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
• Strong learning aptitude for the domain, data analysis skills, and good communication abilities.
• Demonstrated initiative, creativity, and leadership in troubleshooting, suggesting alternatives, and recommending continuous quality improvements.
