Senior Systems Engineer

As a Senior Systems Engineer in Hyderabad, India, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our systems and infrastructure.

• Develop internal tools and utilities using Python or Golang to support and enhance systems, leveraging Puppet and Ansible for a safe, fast, and observable configuration management pipeline.
• Manage and maintain mission-critical Tier-0 services like DNS, DHCP, and LDAP, ensuring high availability and reliability.
• Oversee the operation of a large-scale hybrid cloud infrastructure comprising bare metal and virtual machines.
• Contribute to an 'everything as code' approach, writing, reviewing, and deploying configurations collaboratively.
• Create test plans and automate tests for declarative infrastructure across various cloud environments.
• Build orchestration workflows utilizing the ServiceNow platform's capabilities.
• Research and implement new open-source and commercial tools, technologies, and methodologies.
• Lead and support migration projects, including VM migrations from VMware to OpenStack or other cloud platforms.

To excel in this role, you should possess:

• Hands-on experience with RedHat OpenStack (deployment, management, troubleshooting).
• Extensive experience managing bare metal Linux servers at scale in production, utilizing configuration management tools like Puppet or Ansible.
• Strong expertise in migrating VMs from VMware to OpenStack or similar cloud environments.
• Proven ability to enhance automation processes, with proficiency in scripting and developing solutions in Python or Golang.
• Deep understanding of Linux servers and core system services (DNS, DHCP, LDAP, networking, storage, software packaging).
• Ability to document and communicate systems architecture effectively.
• Proficiency in designing, writing, and debugging code in a collaborative setting, including writing test specifications and understanding test automation fundamentals.
• Experience with various open-source tools for production computing environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to conduct in-depth investigations into DevOps tools and systems technologies.
