Senior Staff Engineer

As a Senior Staff Engineer in Java at Experian, you will be a key contributor to our software engineering teams, focusing on the development of secure, efficient, and API-driven systems within defined timelines. Your responsibilities will include building scalable and reliable systems that power consumer-centric and data-intensive products and services on an AWS cloud-based platform. You will integrate third-party and internal APIs, as well as asynchronous and file-based services utilizing CSV, JSON, or XML formats.

You will manage the entire delivery lifecycle, from initial ideation and development through testing, validation, and production deployment. This role also involves leading, mentoring, and collaborating effectively with your team members, while diligently upholding standards for regulatory compliance and information security. Maintaining accurate, complete, and up-to-date documentation will also be a crucial aspect of your role.

Key Qualifications:

• 10-12 years of software development experience with a strong emphasis on building and testing applications using secure coding practices.
• Proven experience collaborating on commercial software projects utilizing cloud-native Java.
• Proficiency in developing server-side Java applications with mainstream frameworks such as Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Reactor-Core.
• Current experience with cloud technologies, specifically AWS services including Kubernetes, Fargate, S3, MKS, and Lambda.
• A solid understanding of microservices architecture, event-driven patterns, and data pipelines.
• Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL database access and management.
• Familiarity with asynchronous messaging systems, logging, and queues like Kafka, NATS, SQS, or RabbitMQ.
• Recent experience handling Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and other sensitive or secure data.
• Familiarity with CI/CD processes, testing frameworks, and practices (e.g., CodeCommit, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline, CLI).
• Experience with best design and software engineering practices, including design principles, patterns, and unit testing.
• Ability to develop systems that are easily monitored at both the system and business operations level.
• Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
