Your Impact

As a software engineer with a backend focus, you will contribute to building scalable infrastructure and products for the SignalLabs.ai platform. Our backend teams are organized around key architectural pillars supporting end-to-end signal intelligence:

• Data Discovery: Crawling, profiling, and onboarding diverse data sources.
• Semantic Module: Resolving raw entities and events into a unified, meaningful representation.
• Signal Detection and Correlation Engine: Scoring, joining, and elevating signals into high-confidence insights across time and context.
• System of Attention: Routing, ranking, and surfacing critical signals to the right decision-makers at the opportune moment.
• Reinforcement Learning Feedback Loop: Capturing human and machine responses to continuously refine detection, correlation, and prioritization.

You will take ownership of significant areas within these domains, actively shaping how they integrate into a cohesive platform.

Responsibilities

• Drive hands-on architecture and development for critical platform features and infrastructure, upholding high standards for code quality, maintainability, and operational excellence.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the engineering team, promoting best practices, conducting code reviews, and guiding junior engineers through complex problem-solving.
• Identify and resolve intricate technical challenges within the SignalOS platform, optimizing system performance, reliability, and scalability through proactive analysis and innovative solutions.
• Develop infrastructure for evaluating and enhancing system performance, including quality, reliability, and cost. Build monitoring and observability systems to gain insights into production behavior.

Minimum Qualifications

• 8+ years of extensive hands-on experience in full-stack development, with proficiency in Python and Java.
• Proven experience in designing and architecting large-scale projects, emphasizing performance, scalability, robustness, and resiliency, including the creation and consumption of RESTful APIs.
• Experience with microservices architectures and container-based deployment (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with frameworks like ReactJS and Angular for building dynamic and interactive web interfaces.
• Demonstrated ability to design end-to-end systems, making architectural decisions across multiple components (e.g., services, data pipelines, integrations).

Preferred Qualifications

• A strong track record of building and deploying secure, scalable distributed systems, evidenced by a public portfolio (e.g., applications, open-source projects) or recognized contributions (e.g., top-tier conference publications, impactful technical work).
• Deep expertise in system design, including defining and evolving architectures for complex, multi-component systems.
• Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and networking protocols.
• Experience in a technical partner-facing role, managing relationships and guiding external teams through complex technical integrations.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical vision and challenges in an engaging and persuasive manner.
• Experience guiding products from concept to launch, including delivering user-facing applications at scale or in real-world environments.
• A results-oriented mindset with a high degree of ownership and accountability.
• Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently, both vertically and horizontally within the organization.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

What We Look For:

• BS or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of production-level experience in Python, Java, or a similar language.
• Experience developing large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or Kubernetes.
• Experience with security and systems that handle sensitive data.
