Palo Alto Networks is disrupting the cybersecurity industry and seeking a Senior Cloud and Firewall Engineer to join our Infosec team. This role is responsible for securing and delivering security for our Enterprise, SaaS, and Public Cloud security services. Leveraging your expertise in networking, firewalls, cloud technologies, and development, you will design, build automation, and integrate secure programs to scale and secure our infrastructure and applications within a Google Cloud Platform environment. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing technical leadership in the development of security programs and driving our disruptive vision through technology planning and estimation. Your Impact:

• Provide advanced operations and engineering support for critical systems and services, including application and security infrastructure on-premises and in the cloud.
• Assess and review the security and cloud infrastructure across IT and production environments.
• Coordinate with various teams to ensure appliances and services are configured with the correct security posture to meet business requirements.
• Design and implement Zero-Trust Network Architecture, including segmentation.
• Continuously monitor and improve IT support processes to accelerate scalability, reliability, and performance of product infrastructure.
• Assist in maintaining strong oversight of cloud computing solutions to safeguard against undue risk from external entities.
• Engage with the security community across multiple channels, sharing knowledge and fostering inspiration, particularly by managing strategic relationships with key security vendors in the Identity space.
• Develop automation using SOAR tools for tasks to enhance team efficiency.
• Collaborate with teams outside the Security Fusion Center, including Vulnerability Management, Network Teams, OS Teams, and Penetration Testing.
• Understand urgency and security risks to respond effectively to critical vulnerabilities and data exposures.
• Perform traffic and port scans during incident investigations.

Your Experience:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent military qualification.
• 9+ years of experience in core firewall technologies, with a strong working knowledge of Palo Alto NGFW.
• Hands-on experience with cloud service provider ecosystems such as GCP or AWS.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable cloud infrastructure and applications.
• Working knowledge of IP Networking, Routing, Switching, VPNs, DNS, and load balancing.
• Proficiency in virtualization technologies, particularly VMware, and experience securing virtualized environments.
• Experience deploying secure wireless infrastructure in enterprise environments.
• Experience with REST API, scripting automation, and integration is a plus.
• In-depth knowledge and experience in WiFi security standards, protocols, and solutions.
• Working knowledge of dynamic routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF.
• Ability to assess networking security policies across multiple firewalls.
• Familiarity with microservices technology and experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, Chef, and Puppet is a plus.
• Demonstrated self-starter attitude and ability to troubleshoot independently.
• Experience handling and responding to cloud security incidents reported via ticketing platforms (AWS, Azure, Google).
• Strong understanding of certificate management, PKI infrastructure, digital certificates, key management, and secure communication protocols.
