Full Job Description
As a Senior Staff AI Engineer at Teradata, you will lead the design and development of highly scalable AI products within our Agentic Systems. Your role involves shaping product strategy, architecture, and execution while influencing Teradata’s AI evolution. Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and maintaining scalable, reliable systems with a focus on performance and efficiency.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end features, ensuring architecture consistency.
- Building and integrating secure, maintainable RESTful APIs and optimizing database access (SQL/NoSQL).
- Experimenting with AI/ML technologies, including agentic AI and LLMs, to enhance product capabilities.
- Mentoring engineers, driving best practices, and resolving production issues.
- Staying updated with emerging trends in AI, cloud-native technologies, and engineering excellence.
Qualifications:
- Nonnegotiable: Bachelor’s in Computer Science (12+ years in backend services/distributed systems). Proficiency in Java/Go/Python. Deep expertise in distributed systems, REST APIs, SQL/NoSQL, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms.
- Preferred: Experience with Kafka, agentic AI, and AI productivity tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot). Strong mentorship and leadership skills.
