Senior Specialist

hackajob is partnering with BNY Mellon to find a talented Senior Full-Stack Engineer for their Pune, India location. This role involves designing, developing, and documenting technically detailed applications using existing and emerging technology platforms. The engineer will write new complex systems, design and code programs, create test transactions, and analyze organizational needs to implement application systems. Responsibilities include providing application software development services and technical support for moderately complex situations, potentially gathering requirements and preparing BRDs/SRDs. A strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is essential, along with the ability to conduct reviews of test plans and test data. You will be responsible for writing well-designed, testable, and efficient code, analyzing, designing, and developing tests and test-automation suites, and creating flowcharts, layouts, and documentation to meet requirements. Maintaining software functionality and currency, addressing technical debt, and actively participating in code reviews are key. You will integrate software components into fully functional systems, apply security and privacy principles, and execute the full lifecycle of software development. Developing software verification plans, quality assurance procedures, and troubleshooting, debugging, and upgrading existing systems are also part of the role. Ensuring software is updated with the latest features and participating in the deployment process with adherence to change controls are expected. Ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements for existing systems and platforms, along with providing recommendations for continuous improvement, will be required. Active learning engagement, completing mandatory training, and utilizing learning tools like Pluralsight for personal development targets are encouraged. This role emphasizes teamwork, leveraging existing products and functionality, promoting reuse, and collaborating with other engineers to elevate technology and apply best practices. You will take shared responsibility for team commitments, collaborate cross-functionally with data engineers, business users, project managers, and other engineers to achieve elegant solutions, and utilize local meetups for knowledge exchange. You will also compile documentation written by senior developers and mentor junior engineers. Required experience includes using specific application development toolkits and knowledge of front-end and back-end coding languages such as C#, Java, HTML, NodeJS, CSS, JSON, Angular, and JavaScript. Familiarity with application frameworks and containerization is also necessary. Strong teamwork and organization skills are essential. This position contributes to achieving area objectives and may be modified based upon local regulations/requirements. A Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience, is required, along with 2-6 years of software development experience. Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus. The candidate must have thorough knowledge of the software development cycle and experience developing both Front-End and Back-end applications. Knowledge of cross-platform interoperability (e.g., NT, Intranet), major tools in a toolkit for a specific platform, and features of multiple toolkits is required. The role involves resolving hardware, software, and communications malfunctions and understanding the business impact of complications.
