Senior Software Engineer

About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Vanta for Government team, you will establish the technical foundation for expanding into the public sector. You will design systems and architecture to power compliance programs from the ground up for government vendors, federal agencies, and SLED organizations.

Your Responsibilities:

• Lead complex projects with multiple stakeholders to deliver significant impact on our government product line.
• Design and build net-new product capabilities including core compliance workflow features not yet in Vanta's current suite.
• Partner with adjacent engineering teams on shared infrastructure for government-specific workflows.
• Translate ambiguous early-stage requirements into durable, scalable solutions across engineering, product, and go-to-market functions.

Requirements & Expectations:

• Experience: 5+ years in industry with strong systems thinking, platform architecture skills (reuse, scalability), and experience in highly regulated industries like fintech or healthcare. FedRAMP/government domain experience is a plus.
• Mindset: Comfortable operating in early-stage environments where requirements evolve quickly; ability to prioritize shipping against real deadlines while maintaining technical rigor.
