Senior Software Engineer
Full Job Description
About the Role
Department: Engineering - Craftsmanship Department (Agentic Workflow)
Type: Full-time, Exempt | Location: United States Only (Remote) | Note: No visa sponsorship.
The Mission
We are building enterprise agentic software where the cost of change dominates everything else. This is not about vibe-coding or shipping mobile games; it requires durable skills related to craftsmanship: taste, willingness to delete work, comfort with empirical iteration, and the discipline to measure rather than assume.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is fully committed to the XP / Craftsmanship model, including human interactions.
- Loves startup speeds: build today, release tonight, refactor tomorrow. Speed and maintainability go hand-in-hand.
- Has jumped into the agentic space and tinkered their way to custom approaches for modern workflows.
- Communicates well in English (massive collaboration is mostly verbal) and code.
- Has wrestled hard with modern agentic development, offering honest views on where coding agents help versus where they generate confident garbage.
What We Value
We want engineers who understand that prompts shift distributions but do not enforce bounds. You must have an architectural answer for this.
Prompt Engineering & Guardrails: Prompt-engineering and intent-engineering are warmups; we want to hear about what you've tried that's actually interesting beyond the basics.
Avoiding Pitfalls:
- No spec-centric solutions ("I can simply prompt better").
- No massive hardcoded limiters.
- Respect for token cost but not obsessive performance tuning as a primary focus today.
We want someone who tried spec-centric approaches, hit the wall, and now uses specs as components inside a stacked architecture.
