Senior Software Engineer

Ontic Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer specializing in Frontend development to join our dynamic team in Pune, Maharashtra. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead the development of sophisticated user interfaces and frontend systems that underpin our cutting-edge SaaS platform. We are looking for seasoned engineers who can independently drive feature development, assume ownership of significant aspects of our frontend architecture, and actively contribute to the technical direction of their team.

Your responsibilities will include architecting scalable frontend solutions, elevating system quality, and ensuring an exceptional user experience. You will be instrumental in delivering robust, high-performance systems, championing best practices, and influencing architectural decisions at the team level. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of complex frontend features utilizing JavaScript, TypeScript, React, HTML, and CSS.
• Translate intricate product requirements into scalable, maintainable, and efficient software solutions.
• Manage the end-to-end delivery of features, from initial design and development through to production deployment and monitoring.
• Proactively identify and implement improvements to existing UI architecture, system performance, and overall user experience.
• Write high-quality, well-tested, and maintainable code that adheres to established engineering standards and best practices.
• Champion code reviews, ensuring consistent application of best practices and fostering a culture of technical excellence within the team.
• Define and promote standards for component design, state management strategies, and overall frontend architecture.
• Enhance test coverage, optimize application performance, and ensure accessibility across our suite of applications.
• Engage in continuous learning and exploration of new technologies and tools to drive innovation.
• Contribute to internal knowledge sharing initiatives and participate actively in technical discussions.
• Collaborate closely with product management, design, and backend engineering teams to conceptualize and deliver integrated solutions.
• Deconstruct complex problems into manageable tasks, guiding the team towards successful execution.
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, supporting their professional growth.
• Clearly articulate technical decisions, their associated trade-offs, and potential risks to stakeholders.
• Lead debugging efforts and the resolution of complex issues within production environments.
• Drive enhancements in monitoring, logging, and performance tracking systems to ensure system reliability.
• Guarantee the reliability, scalability, and optimal performance of all frontend systems.

Qualifications and Experience:

• 5-7 years of professional software engineering experience with a strong concentration in frontend development.
• Expert proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with React and TypeScript in production settings.
• Solid understanding of frontend architecture patterns, state management solutions, and component-driven development methodologies.
• Proven experience in designing and building scalable, high-performance web applications.
• In-depth knowledge of browser internals, performance optimization techniques, and rendering behaviors.
• Experience with various testing strategies and frameworks, such as Vitest, Jest, and React Testing Library.
• Proficiency with modern frontend tooling and build systems.
• Exceptional debugging and problem-solving skills across diverse environments.
• Experience working with REST APIs and distributed systems.
• Ability to work autonomously and drive projects to successful completion.
• Effective communication and interpersonal collaboration skills.

Good to Have:

• Experience developing and maintaining design systems or shared component libraries.
• Exposure to frontend observability and performance monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native architectures.
• Understanding of accessibility standards and best practices for implementation.
• Experience contributing to cross-team frontend standards or platform initiatives.
