Senior Software Engineer Team Lead

About The Role

We are seeking a dynamic Senior Software Engineer – Team Lead to drive engineering execution, lead product development, and shape the technical architecture of our scalable platform. In this hands-on leadership role, you will work directly with founding team members to translate business goals into robust technical solutions while mentoring developers in a fast-paced startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Software Development: Design and build high-performance web applications using JavaScript/TypeScript (React/Next.js) for the frontend and Node.js for backend services. Own features from concept through deployment, ensuring clean, tested, and maintainable code.
• Technical Leadership & Architecture: Make critical architectural decisions regarding APIs, database schemas (PostgreSQL), security, and scalability. Evaluate technologies to balance rapid delivery with long-term sustainability.
• Team Mentorship: Guide engineers through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and skill development. Break down complex requirements into actionable tasks and foster a culture of accountability.
• Reliability & Operations: Establish CI/CD pipelines, implement comprehensive testing strategies (unit to end-to-end), and monitor application health in production using logging and error tracking tools.
• Business Impact: Collaborate with founders and product stakeholders to improve conversion journeys, simplify user workflows, and identify opportunities for operational efficiency.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 6–8+ years of professional software engineering experience with substantial production exposure.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript; hands-on experience with React or Next.js frameworks.
• Solid backend expertise using Node.js, REST APIs, and relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL).
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, Git workflows, automated testing, and CI/CD deployment pipelines.
• Proven ability to lead technical projects, mentor teams, and communicate complex trade-offs clearly.
