Senior Software Engineer
Full Job Description
Job Summary: DigiCert is shaping the trust layer for the next generation of AI agents. This role focuses on developing runtime software that secures and governs AI-agent communication in production environments. You’ll work closely with application traffic, policy enforcement, and cloud-native systems, bridging networking, security, and distributed systems expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and implement secure runtime components, including application proxies, traffic inspection layers, and policy enforcement systems.
• Develop and optimize HTTP, TLS, certificate handling, and performance-sensitive runtime logic.
• Integrate authentication, authorization, audit, and cloud deployment workflows with runtime systems.
• Enhance observability, reliability, and operability in production environments.
• Define secure runtime controls for modern AI-agent systems across internal and external execution environments.
• Support incident response and continuously improve system safety and supportability.
Qualifications:
• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Go with additional fluency in Python, Rust, or C/C++.
• Deep understanding of networking fundamentals (HTTP/1.1, HTTP/2, TLS, proxies, load balancing, DNS).
• Experience with Linux, containers, Kubernetes networking, and cloud-native environments.
• Knowledge of observability tools, debugging, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with cloud security, API gateways, service mesh (Envoy, Istio, Linkerd), and policy engines (OPA, Cedar).
• Bonus: Experience with SPIFFE/SPIRE, eBPF, async networking frameworks, or WebAssembly plugins.
