About the Query Team

Every pipeline on CircleCI generates data. The Query team owns the system that makes this history accessible for agentic software delivery lifecycles. We pull product data from transactional services into analytical storehouses, serving it via APIs to internal teams and customers.

• Mission: Make storing data "fire and forget" for other teams while ensuring fast, dependable querying at growing scale.

What You'll Do

• Build AI-natively: Use AI as the default starting point for problem-solving, not just a productivity layer.
• Shape Data Storage: Own and harden our ClickHouse-based storage. Design schemas, tune ingestion/query performance, and support production-scale data.
• Build Pipelines: Design durable workflows on Temporal to move event streams reliably without slowing critical paths.
• Serve Data: Evolve the platform into the default path for historical queries. Ensure teams get what they need quickly with minimal hand-holding while maintaining visibility for optimization.
• Tech Leadership: Lead architecture discussions, write ADRs, and decide on data domain migrations.
