Senior Software Engineer

About the Role

Stryker is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a strong focus on Product Security and a Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in Gurugram. This is a hybrid role offering flexibility in your work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in facilitating internal and third-party audits.
• Interpret industry standards and government regulations to implement world-class processes, providing resources and removing obstacles for team achievements.
• Leverage Design Controls expertise throughout the product development lifecycle, from inception to successful design completion.
• Possess a foundational understanding of product security Risk Management strategies.
• Recommend and implement efficiency and process improvements for product security capabilities and functions.
• Collaborate with product teams to conduct thorough security risk assessments.
• Clearly communicate design control and product security-related issues to stakeholders.
• Perform gap assessments between various processes and drive the fulfillment of identified gaps.
• Communicate security gaps to leadership and propose effective mitigation solutions.

What You Need

Required Knowledge & Competencies:

• 3-7 years of relevant experience.
• Basic expertise in applying security control frameworks, conducting security risk assessments, and scoring the severity of security threats and vulnerabilities.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to build consensus.
• Demonstrated technical problem-solving skills.
• Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC).
• Basic understanding of the vulnerability management lifecycle.
• Experience working within a regulated medical organization.

Good to Have:

• Familiarity with the ISO 13485 standard.
• Experience in New Product Development for Software and/or Systems.
• Knowledge of FDA Cybersecurity guidance (including FDC 524B and eSTAR updates).
• Hands-on experience using Agile methodologies.
• Understanding of security risk management processes, preferably within the healthcare or medical device industry.
