Senior Software Engineer

About the Role

Abnormal AI is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Multi-Product Platform (MPP) organization. This team owns the critical infrastructure enabling scalable, consistent development across our entire enterprise product suite. You will be part of the Customer Journey team, focused on optimizing how clients onboard and utilize Abnormal's solutions.

Your Impact

• Build and iterate on high-value product offerings, APIs, platforms, frameworks, and tools to streamline customer onboarding and proof-of-value experiences.
• Design, develop, and maintain feature buildouts that deliver a world-class user experience, significantly reducing manual steps and accelerating time-to-value for our customers.

Your Responsibilities

• Ensure system stability and reliability by participating in regular code/design reviews and team on-call rotation.
• Write production-grade Python code with Postgres databases that emphasizes testability, readability, edge cases, and error handling.
• Create comprehensive technical design documents; communicate effectively asynchronously to share updates, discuss challenges, and propose solutions within a remote-first environment.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineers across functions while taking ownership of projects that drive positive impact for the whole team.

Requirements

Must Haves:

• 7+ years of industry experience as a Software Engineer with strong fundamentals.
• Proven ability to own and drive complex systems end-to-end, collaborating effectively across teams.
• Solid expertise in writing production Python code and working with Postgres databases.
• Strong system design skills for building resilient, scalable applications focused on operational excellence.
• Detailed focus on service health, monitoring, fault tolerance, incident response, code quality, testing, and performance optimization.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Golang and Airflow orchestration.
• Familiarity with AI productivity tools such as ChatGPT, Cursor, or similar GenAI solutions.
