Senior Software Engineer

Overview

The Mastercard Payment Networks team seeks a Senior Developer to drive customer experience strategy through continuous innovation and problem-solving within our Digital Network Architecture, Cloud Native principles, and Scaled Agile Framework. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, fault-tolerant systems using modern engineering practices.
• Build backend services in Java (8+) applying OOP design, SOLID principles, and patterns.
• Create microservices with Spring Boot focusing on event-driven architecture and reusability.
• Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Collaborate across teams for alignment and successful project delivery.
• Ensure adherence to architecture standards, security, and compliance.
• Participate in scoping, estimation, planning, and prioritization.
• Deploy in CI/CD-enabled cloud environments.
• Implement data persistence strategies (RDBMS, NoSQL).
• Enforce coding standards and best practices for maintainable code.
• Leverage AI/ML capabilities including GenAI tools to improve efficiency.
• Drive innovation through Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and technology adoption.
• Identify technical risks and mitigate them proactively.
• Communicate designs, decisions, and issues clearly to stakeholders.
• Deliver commitments within timelines aligned with business priorities.
• Operate effectively in Agile environments with strong ownership.
• Mentor engineers on engineering best practices.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies through continuous learning.

All About You

• 6-10 years of overall career experience in Software Development using Java.
• Passion for technology with strong Object-Oriented Design & Programming skills.
• In-depth knowledge of product development lifecycles.
• Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot; Event Driven Architecture/Kafka experience preferred.
• Experience developing Online / Real Time Systems.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
• Desirable experience in Cloud based development environments.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Rapid learning abilities and adaptability.
• Mentoring capabilities to guide junior engineers.
